On the evening of December 12th, 30 members and guests of Alliance Française de Naples celebrated our annual Dîner de Noël with a delicious, 3-course, gourmet meal, consisting of two appetizer choices … Lobster Bisque, or Escargot à la mode de l’Abbaye (escargot with fresh cream & Armagnac sauce & caramelized onions), and three main course choices … Merliton de Saumon (salmon in parchment paper with mustard & garlic, and vegetables), Bacchus Steak (6-oz. Filet Mignon with wine sauce, chanterelle mushrooms, and haricots verts), or Canard Rôti aux Pruneaux (Half crispy duck with port wine sauce with lentils) … dessert was Bûche de Noël (Yule log with a new twist … French vanilla ice cream and orange peel). Afterward we had a lively gift exchange. And we concluded the evening by singing Christmas carols in French.
